“Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise.” - Proverbs 20:1
for any Christian, its a no brainer that drunkenness is clearly wrong, but ppl think that drinking alcohol at all is wrong. That is not true, because Jesus Himself drank wine fairly often, even during the Last Supper. However, He never got drunk off of it, which is where you have to draw the line- adults can drink in moderation, but you shouldnt get drunk, just consider the consequences it has on people (Proverbs 23:29-35)
now, if youre underage, you shouldnt even drink at all, whether you get drunk or not, why? Romans 13:1-5 states that we are to obey our governing authorities, and they say that 21 is the age you gotta be, so dont even think about it
so, while our modern culture can seem to glorify alcoholism, the Bible gives us a radically different idea of what a glorifying life truly is (Ephesians 5:18)
so, next time you think about drinking, consider what God’s word says; i hope this helps, to God be the glory, God bless! =)
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
- Philippians 4:6-7
Here, Paul is telling us that instead of worrying about things and trying to resolve problems on our own, we are to consult what God wants us to do, and trust that He will answer our prayers, whether His answer is a “no” a “not yet” or “yes.” So, i challenge yall to set up a steady, daily prayer time with Jesus, tell Him about your anxieties, your fears, your joys, whatever. Then, watch as you see Him answer them, in His time.
P.S.- if you need help with getting into your prayer life, ive just today started praying in “three-a-days,” praying in the morning when i wake up, in the afternoon after school, and in the evening before bed (Psalm 55:16-17)
P.P.S.- need a guideline for your prayers? Jesus gave us His guide to help us (see Matthew 6:9-13)
i hope this helps, to God be the glory, not to me, God bless! =)
“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.” - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
God uniquely designed you(Psalm 139:13-16), and as a Christian, you have the Holy Spirit living in you, you are His property! If you were using something that wasnt yours, you would most likely take extra care of it. Well, since our bodies really belong to the Holy Spirit, we need to do all we can to take care of it: exercise, eat well, sleep good(which i really have trouble with), keeping it clean, etc. So, what will you do to take care of the Holy Spirit’s temple?
“He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”
- Deuteronomy 8:3
i get the title daily bread from the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6, where Jesus taught the people to say, “give us this day our daily bread.” For most people, this simply means physical food, but in fact, your daily bread could also mean spiritual food, such as prayer, studying the Bible, teaching others to obey God, whatever can spiritually fill you up and get you strong in the faith. i mean, just think, if you dont eat food, youll eventually starve and die off. Well, the same is true for getting into the Word; if you dont do it everyday and let it convict you, youll lose your spiritual muscles, starve, then die off. So thats why i believe God brought me here, to help yall with your daily bread, and give yall some teachings that will make you buff! Spiritually speaking… i just wanna encourage you to be strong, because there will be days you wont feel like reading the Bible, its happened to me, but the strength it gives you will be so empowering to your spirit, trust me! =) God bless!
“Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me will find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?’ “
- Matthew 16:24-26
Dont you see? Following Jesus isnt gonna be some cushy life where you get to get all dressed up for church on Sunday and thats it; in fact, Jesus basically hits home the fact that when you live your life for Jesus, you constantly live on edge! It is a hard, and sometimes dangerous life, but for me, id rather have a hard life now and be glorified, than to live an easy life enslaved to sin, and have to miss out later…for eternity. What about you?
